Today during our Inquiry-based play, we explored a programmable robot called Codey the Caterpillar. Each segment of its body had a different function such as 'play music', 'turn left' and 'flash lights'. By joining the segments in different sequences we could program Codey to do all sorts of different things. This was a great way for us to learn about directions - particularly telling left from right!
On Friday all the Parerā children and teachers came together to enjoy hub singing. We sang a number of fun action songs and loved using Mrs Tasker's puppets to act out several songs. One of our favourites songs was 'Five Little Ducks'. Mrs Tasker even had a mother duck puppet that made a quacking noise!
This term the Parerā children have been working on their Learning Goals. Maddie set herself the challenge of learning to tie her shoelaces. Maddie's clever Mum made her this amazing teaching shoe to help Maddie practise. What a great idea!
