Greedy Cat Paintings

Our big book this week has been the wonderful Joy Cowley story, 'Greedy Cat'. On Friday afternoon we began our Greedy Cat paintings. We explored how to mix and blend colours to create different tones. Next week we will add the details to our paintings - watch this space!

Kimihia Week 9

Cara's son Max came to help out at Kimihia on Friday and had lots of fun with the children making giant bubbles. Lucy made delicious porridge and Whaea Becky made cheeky little fantails. It was great to see the Parerā 5 children getting involved with all the different activities.

C is for Cookies...

This week one of our focus sounds was 'c/k', so today we finished off a week of fun by making delicious chocolate chip cookies. We made enough to take home to our families - we hope they enjoy them as much as we did!                                         

N is for noodle necklaces ... P is for pasta ...

This week our focus letters have been 'p' and 'n'. To help consolidate our learning, and have fun at the same time, we made n oodle n ecklaces - and bracelets for some! Inspired by the macaroni we had used to make our necklaces, the next day we cooked p lain  p asta. We drew picture plans to illustrate the process. We practised setting the table, using our table manners and clearing the table and washing our dishes after eating. A yummy afternoon treat!

Welcome Pīwakawaka 22 and 23!

On Friday we welcomed our Year One friends and their teachers to our space. We had great fun playing and getting to know each other. We are building our sense of community.
