Kindness Begins with ME!

On Monday the Parerā and Pīwakawaka children and teachers enjoyed our ignition day for this term's inquiry: 'Kindness Begins with ME!' We began the day with an assembly and learned about what it means to be a good friend and how we can show kindness to others. We sang songs and danced with our friends and talked about our own kindness goals. After interval we began a rotation of activities including: making friendship bracelets, decorating cookies and creating sweet treats to be given away as Random Acts of Kindness, and meeting retired greyhounds and the people that care for them. In the afternoon we joined with Pūkeko hub to create a giant heart on the school field. Sam took a photo of us from the balcony.

What a great way to kick off such an important unit of learning for us all.
