Fire Safety with Tori

Today Ollie's Mum Tori came to talk to us about fire safety. We learnt about the dangers of fire and how to keep safe around sources of fire such as matches, gas hobs and fireplaces. We learnt about the importance of having smoke alarms in your home - many of the children were going to go home and check if they had a sufficient number of these around their house and check if they were in good working order.

Tori showed us her firefighter gear, including her special pants, jacket, hat and boots. We loved the torch on the hat and all the pockets on her jacket! Finally, Tori read us a great story to teach us about what to do in the event of a house fire - GET OUT! STAY OUT! Here is the link to the song that goes with the story: https://getfirewise.org.nz/resources/GOSO-Song.mp3
