What a fabulous day we had on Wednesday! It was so much fun seeing everyone dressed up in their book character costumes, taking part in the school parade and reading each other's books throughout the day.

Week One Fun!

Check out all the amazing things we have been doing this week in Parerā 5! Frankie, Sahel and Monty started school.  Sahel celebrated his 5th birthday and his Mum brought in a delicious chocolate cake to share with us - good timing Mrs Lidstone! A parerā (grey duck) visited Parerā 5! We learnt about the letter 'a' so we went on an ant hunt. We followed a recipe to make playdough. We used our playdough to make balls and worms and then we turned our worms into letters. We chased bubbles for fitness. We learnt a new maths game called 'Lilypads'. We are learning to identify the numbers 1-10. We completed a maths activity in our activity books. We visited Pīwakawaka 1/2 at the end of the day on Thursday to meet and play with the other Year 1 children.
