What a wonderful time we had at Kimihia today! Smoothie making, bracelet making, box construction, paper craft, musical performances, dress ups, ball games and more - so many fun choices, it was hard to know where to start!
This week our focus letters have been 'p' and 'n'. To help consolidate our learning, and have fun at the same time, we made n oodle n ecklaces - and bracelets for some! Inspired by the macaroni we had used to make our necklaces, the next day we cooked p lain p asta. We drew picture plans to illustrate the process. We practised setting the table, using our table manners and clearing the table and washing our dishes after eating. A yummy afternoon treat!
This term the Parerā children have been working on their Learning Goals. Maddie set herself the challenge of learning to tie her shoelaces. Maddie's clever Mum made her this amazing teaching shoe to help Maddie practise. What a great idea!
In Parerā we work extremely hard to uphold our St Albans School Values. They help us to be the best we can be in our work, play and in our relationships with others. One of the ways we can show our values is by being kind to others. This week we celebrated completing our '100 acts of kindness' chart by making kindness cookies together. Cara made us all medals with this beautiful quote: When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world. Harold Kusher I am very proud of the kind and caring manner in which all the children in Parerā 5 treat each other. We know that, 'KINDNESS BEGINS WITH ME!'
