This week our writing group has been focussing on the letter 'p'. Today we decorated pink pig cupcakes. We used pink icing, marshmallows, chocolate drops and pink wafers. Not only did they look fantastic, they tasted fantastic too!
This term the Parerā children have been working on their Learning Goals. Maddie set herself the challenge of learning to tie her shoelaces. Maddie's clever Mum made her this amazing teaching shoe to help Maddie practise. What a great idea!
Today we explored a variety of maths equipment. Sofia, Monty and Frankie practised their number formation on the whiteboards. Ka pai tamariki! Shay made interesting patterns on the Geoboards. Zoe and Yahara created a fun game with the number mats, a dice and a beanbag, to practise their number identification. These children used playdough to make shapes, sets and patterns. Jaydon and Maia played the 'Build a Tower' game with a dice and duplo. Whose tower will be the highest? Kapish made these awesome shapes from playdough and added faces. Tau ke Kapish!
On Friday we welcomed our Year One friends and their teachers to our space. We had great fun playing and getting to know each other. We are building our sense of community.
